Algorithmic Mediations for Agonism is a book whose goal is to share notes and reflections, as well as the methods and processes developed by the Design and Agonism group at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of Chile. The book presents a conceptual introduction and a brief bibliographic discussion about the role technical media could be playing in the fields of design and architecture, once we give credit to the possibility that they can overcome their mere professional scopes, to become, alternatively, creative practices for critical and/or analytical inquiry.

The book also argues on whether speculative research —insofar as an alternative to academia’s canon— can meet and get entangled with artistic practices giving way to an inquiry on how media cultures could now be shaping the design fields, and thus the material spaces they model.

Finally, the book then closes with a brief visual catalogue on the processes that the group developed around all these questions.
